where the log file for xwindow


when i start a xwindow with command startx, where is the log file
for it.

The user's own personal X log is at ~/.xsession-errors. There is probable another one in /var/logs/ as well.

i am using fedora core 2, and i can't find that file.

what is the exactly log file name in /var/log directory?

i am a newbie.

It should be at /var/log/Xorg.0.log but the name might be different depending on your X version. Do a "ls /var/log/X*" (w/out quotes) and you should be able to pick it out.
