Where is Fedora 11's source code?

Greetings!

I'm trying to test a slightly modified device driver with Fedora 11 and have been unable to find the source code rpm. I have no trouble finding the kernel-2.6.30...src.rpm package, but the closest to kernel-2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i586.src.rpm I've found is kernel-devel-2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i586.rpm which doesn't work with the procedure I'm following here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs/CustomKernel

I'm hoping someone knows of a site with the Genuine F11 source code rpm that will work.

Thanks,

Jay

They have an average life time of six weeks, I think,
and are not saved, so it's pure luck finding a match.
Usually a kernel update is required, to get a match.

Wow - thanks for the quick response and excellent info!

I'm surprised to hear the packages only stay around for six weeks - I would think that makes it very difficult to make a product for a particular release other than the latest. E.g. if you want a device driver to work on Fedora 10 and later it sounds like you're out of luck.

Thanks again!
Jay

The trick is : do not update the kernel
( unless it's absolutely necessary ).

Can be excluded from updates → /etc/yum.conf

Add a line : exclude=kernel*
.. then 1) # yum install kernel
and 2) kernel updates ... will not be executed.
.....

I'm trying to drain a swamp but the alligators keep nipping at me...

I'm trying to add support for a USB device to an existing driver, ftdi_sio. to be exact, but whenever I attempt to modprobe my slightly-modified version (all that is changed is additional Vendor and Product IDs) with the live cd installation, I get an 'improper format' error message which I interpret to mean I don't have exactly the same something as the live cd. If I run my compiled version, the modprobe works fine.

I've even compiled ftdi_sio without my changes and get the same result.

How does one compile a duplicate of a kernel, say 2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i586?
