I'm not saying I remember it, but how about /var/cache/yum or something similar?

You could also do a search for files whose name contains "rpm" for example.. (not sure if it renames the files to something like .rpm.part while downloading, so be sure to check such things too)

Code:
find -type f -name "*.rpm*"
or something like that.

Yum does download rpm files to /var/cache/yum. But the downloads won't be there for long unless you edit /etc/yum.conf to change the value of keepcache to 1. Otherwise, yum will delete the downloaded rpm files when it is finished installing them.
