Where does FC3 put usb? Not under /dev
Hello all
I have my ext USB modem working fine under Mandrake 10. Shows up as /dev/usb/ACM/0, sym link to modem, no worries. (thanks to Maddog in the Mdk distro forum) BUT! when i try to carry out the same proc in FC3 I find that there is no mention of usb at all under /dev. There is a choice of /dev/input/ttyACM0 in Network Config but no mention of ACM0 in /dev/input itself? If i choose /dev/input/ACM0 I get an error code 2 ( cannot use 2 mutually exlusive options)? Somebody tell me what is going on please before I cut my wrists  |
Code:
[~]$ ls /dev/usb/ |
Thanks
I used usbview & got a result which appears to recognise my modem & mouse 9both generic) but has no mention of my scanner. Also usb is under /proc/bus/usb & devices are 001 & 002 in folders of the same name. Both are empty & appear to be just place holders. I've tried using a sym link but everything I do comes up with the same error code. I can't use your suggestion because the /dev/usb is not there? How do I know if my usb modules are loaded?? I'm lost  |
