werewolf on msi vr600 laptop
funny thing, a friend of mine has an msi vr600 laptop, downloaded werewolf but installation hangs shortly after selecting the install/upgrade option from the boot menu .....there's no hdd or cd activity after the /sbin/loader run ....anyone got any clues ? ...thanks

Tried text-based install? Do other CTRL+ALT+Fn consoles (F1 through F6 IIRC) show any error output?

Arooo! f8 you mean
press tab and edit the options appropriate for the laptop.
Wow - a quick google shows this laptop is good with linux, you want to try "noapic nolapic" at least. Go through the bios and disable special power management "features" for specific HW too.

that's just the thing ....oddest bios i've ever seen ...can't disable native sata mode, no option to turn the acpi off ...i'm stumped :P

For example:

... that will probably be overkill.
I see entries indicating that other distros install and run this machine.
