Use the Torrents...Make the World a better place!

Part of the Fedora project is trying to expand the distibution model. Let's try and use the torrents...the more people ther are the faster our downloads should go.

Code:

Now, for those behind routers/NAT/firewalls, please remember to enable port forwarding so BT can share what you've downloaded, too.

Well, you're doing better than I am:

[ed@localhost ~/torrents]$btdownloadcurses.py --max_uploads 20 --max_upload_rate 12 --url http://torrent.dulug.duke.edu/tettna...86-iso.torrent

I've got ports 6881-6889 TCP (not UDP or ICMP) open to my machine, too.

Is my ISP (Charter.net) limiting my access to BitTorrent?
Or, is the http server just overwhelmed?
I also changed my timeout to 120, and its connecting, but still creeping along at ~15 KB/s.

Code:

|------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

I was using the torrent... but I was uploading at a capped 10kB/s and downloading at .07 kB/s

The mirror I'm using now is at least doing 60-80

Periodically I get "Problem connecting to tracker" messages (this is with the Windows version of BitTorrent). This won't corrupt the download, will it?

In my experience no. THis happens to me often with high traffic torrents such as the mandrake 10 official torrent and some other less than legal ones
