usb hard drive in fedora core 1?
 

How do I use a usb hard drive in fedora? It is an ntfs drive. I've gone through the steps of installing ntfs support so that is no problem. Under the hardware browser the drive is listed as sda and sda1. dual partitioned. Where is it? How do I mount it? Help??? Please, I really need this info off the drive for a meeting tomorrow. I really don't want to have to go back to windows to get it!

What is going on?
 

Does nobody have an answer for me about where to find my USB hard drive? Or how to mount it? There must be hundreds od people out there with external drives. C'mon.

Create a folder as root under /mnt, say, mkdir /mnt/usb1
then mount the device sda1 or sda2 using mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb1 (you might have to specify the format in which case you you the -t option as in mount -t ntfs /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb1).

Ok, I just upgraded to fedora core three and the problem was solved. Also it reads my mp3/usb pen drive properly my usb 2.0 pcmcia card and my digital camera. All things fc1 couldn't seem to get done (even with the 2.6.9 upgrade). One weird thing now, though, is that my audio has gone haywire.

Yeah, audio has been a problem with FC2 and FC3. I had to recompile the kernel to get audio working on my computers.
