USB Flash drive and the Fedora Boot image...

Ok, this one's a bit complicated...

I used "dd" to write the Fedora Core4 boot image onto my USB flash drive - no problems. But then I noticed that only the 8 megs of the disk image is available. The USB drive is a full gig.

SO, I scewed around with FDisk for a while and didn't get anywhere with it. What I'd like to do is either have the full drive available, or at least partition it. Now, tell me if this will work: I copy the contents off of the drive - including the contents of the master boot record. Then, partition the drive and recopy the boot record and the image contents.

Will this work, and what will I need to research to get this done?

It's probably possible. Someone has probably already done this but you need to search for your answer.
