Upgrading from Core 1 to Core 2

I'm currently running Fedora Core 1 with a few add-on’s (qmail). I've searched for a HOW-TO on upgrading, but come up empty. I have a couple of questions about upgrading.

1. Can I upgrade by simply running up2date and installing all of the available packages?

2. If I can't upgrade with up2date, then I will assume that I need to download and burn the new ISO's. Has anyone successfully upgraded their installation of Core 1 to Core 2? Is there a HOW-TO somewhere? What were the gotcha's?

I just saw a page the other day telling how to up2date your Fedora Core 1 to 2-test-1... I don't remember where, of course. Basic'ly, you'll have to edit the conf file to point to a 2-test-1 server. It'll take a lot of downloading.

I would suggest waiting for the final release to come out... I've heard some people are surprised they're having some trouble with the first test version. I have it running on a spare hard-drive for my laptop, and think it's pretty good. But, it's not ready-for-prime-time, yet.

My understanding is that you will be able to use yum to upgrade from one release to another. You would simply edit /etc/redhat-release and change the release name.
