Upgrade/Install FC8 from FC6 best plan
I've been playing with Fedora for a while using FC6. I am running quite a bit on it (DNS, SAMBA, NAGIOS, SENDMAIL...) and have it and KDE tailored they way I like it.
Now I want to move to FC8. While I am at it I would like to then clone it to another set of hardware as a trash and reload playground. I have cloned the hard disk to another drive and tested it so I have my backup and set for the secondary system.
FC8 recommends a fresh install - but I don't want to redo all the installs/settings by hand. I have read and see that the update mode seems to chase its own tail during the dependency check taking literally days to or never finish.
1) How do I get from FC6 to FC8 as I want?
2) After I clone the FC8 disk for the new secondary system what all do I have to change to make it a "unique" system? I know the IP and host name in network settings and SAMBA but what else such as certificates for NX?
Thanks.
