upgrade fromfc3 to fc4 levt tons of dup packages


hello all,
Here is a good one .... I upgraded from fc3 to fc4 with yum and now there are 315 duplicated packages.. some have fc3 in the name some do not...

Question 1.. can anyone tell me how to remove the lower release dups without taking a week to do it one by one???? (rpm, yum, apt, ???)

Question 2.. I can not access mysql from any html or php page now... works fine from the command line...

I do not have access to the box physically nor do I have gui access only ssh...

fixed the mysql problem

Hi all,
fixed the mysql problem.. I had php 5 installed but it wae useing the php4 ini file found out by running:
php -m at the command prompt it was still looking for the mods in the php4 dir..
removed all php packages and the php.ini file and reinstalled them all is fine...

BUT I still have the dup packages to remove... any help here would be wonderful....

come on people someone has to know how to remove dup packages with rpm, yum, apt or??? without doing it one at a time....

this is taking me HOURS...

PLEASE HELP

never mind... found a wonderful program called smart that removed 300 dups in one setting from the command line... GREAT program for upgrades that leave junk....
here is the link... they have rpms for different disttros
