Updates slowing Open GL?

I have the most recent updates for Fedora, minus the last 23 (acording to up2Date). Anyway, when i got my last batch of updates, Open GL applications started sucking serious processing power. My sceensaver which used to run at about 4% CPU usage now uses 60% and Tux Racer is about as slow as SuSe with all the trimmin's on my 586 box.

A) What is going on?
B) Does it have something to do with some of the recent updates?

PS- I use pre-compiled RPM's from Fedora to keep the system up to date.

What graphics card/chipset are you using? You may need to un-install the drivers for the card and re-install the package. Remember, it's always a bit better to do all of this as root in runtime level 3.

I'm using an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200.

I plan on reinstalling the drivers, but what do you mean by "runtime level 3"?

They mean you should install the nvidia driver in runtime level 3. Using root on the command line 'init 3' (beware don't have kde or gnome running) then try installing the driver again.
