Up2date not working and Fedora running slow

Hello everyone

I recently installed Fedora 2 on my machine (I have been using mandrake) and I noticed that Fedora is running really slow.

My machine is a Pentium 3 550mhz, 128 ram, Voodoo 3 3500, 10 GB HD

I read about increasing the swap size, would it help?

I know this is not the recommend config to have this OS, but what could be done to improve it?

By the way, I am running the Up2date but it stops on a window "Progress Dialog" that says Fetching h*t*t*p*://mirror... (its a long URL), how can I fix it?

Thanks

PS: Sorry about the *, but I´m not allowed to post a URL yet
