under text mode, the screen resolution is only 720 X 400

But when I enter X with 'startx', it can be displayed at 1024 x 768. I use a 15 inch LCD monitor. My system is FC2. How can I change resolution also to 1024 x 768 under text mode? Thanks!

In /etc/lilo.conf add the following line under the default kernel:

append = 'vga=785'

then run lilo and reboot

Thanks!
But I use grub as the boot loader, what shall I do?

I have this problem too......720x400 is kind of a whacked out resolution -- especially on a 17" LCD.

Whenever I try to set a "vga=" command, I get no video at all.

Not to threadjack him, but.....*bump*?
