Unable to play midi on Fedora 9 i386

As the topic says, I am unable to play midi on my Fedora 9 i386. I have installed timidity++ with no luck. I am running an ECS KN3-SLi2 motherboard with on-board 8 channel audio. Specs here: http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Pro...uID=46&LanID=9

Any ideas?

Hmm have you installed the instrument pack for timidity as well?

If I remember right, without it it won't play anything at all.

Also I see you are on a 64bit system... MIDI is an -old- standard, it might also have to do with your word size when running in 64bit mode...?

Unless it is included in the timidity++ or libtimidity package, no I don't have the instrument pack. What is the name of it? And no, this is a 32-bit OS just running on a 64-bit processor. That OS name on the side is old; I have been too lazy to change it. I'm running Fedora 9 i386.

The instrument pack file I have is called

Code:
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25050289 May 5 2006 eawpats12_full.rar
It is about 24MB, if you want and you have space somewhere I can FTP it up for you? Mail won't work, my connection over here is too slow... but most likely you can just search for it and download it.

I did this quite a while ago (several years) but if I remember right you need to unrar this file into the directory

Code:
/usr/local/share/timidity
and then timidity should be able to find it.
