Exclamation trouble installing mplayer,loads then noting


i installed mplayer-gui with yum. (and mplayer)everything went fine. when i go to menu to start it initiates (get an hour glass) and then disappears. i'm wondering what i'm doing wrong? i'm assuming i have all dependencies. everything on fedora core 1 is updated. any suggestions?i've searched and goggled it but nothing.

BTW i'm a noob to linux and more to fedora so i would really,really appreciate detail.

try starting it from the command line and see if it prints errors. If it does them post them.

- Mplayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and disassembly. details in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash.

It can be a bug in the Mplayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your gcc version. If you think it''s MPlayer's fault,please read DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling it. It looks corrupted.
