trouble enabling nvidia 3d support in FC5

i am running FC5 on one gig ram, an athlon xp 3000+, and a nvidia 6200. I have used yumex to install the nvidia drivers and they appear to be installed, as the application appears under applications->system tools. but when i try to run something that involves 3d graphics (scorched 3d and BZFlag) i get very low framerates and very low quality. windows also occasionally lag as i move them around as well. any help would be gladly appreciated

lsmod ?

Look for nvidia module.

The packages i installed are

kmod-nvidia
kmod-nvidia-smp
kmod-nvidia-kdump
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-devel

i just installed packages with 'nvidia' in the name that looked relevant

Did you add the Livna nVidia module? This might help.

I tried using that, but after I restarted my computer, i had a big problem. The nvidia screen flashed and after the devices were loading (the point where you can choose to open up the menu as they are loading) the nvidia screen flashed again and it was frozen white with a small grey box in the upper right with a "..." in it. These drivers always seem to be risky.

This was done on a fresh install
