Please note I would like to see about doing a Fedora upgrade forcing a new video installation. I realize a full install will do that but I do not want to loose my data on the system.

Any suggestions/

Could you be more specific about what a "new video installation" means to you? I can think of at least three possabilities:

1) A reinstall or upgrade of the X system, or
2) a reinstall or upgrade of your video driver(s), or
3) instalation of a new driver for a changed monitor or video card.

But you might have someting else in mind.

P.S. Reinstalling Fedora should not modify the contents of /home at all, and, if you're worried, you can tar the whole /home tree before reinstalling. (You should, of course, already have periodic backups availble,
