tired of kmenuedit

I know fedora core 2 and other versions have trouble with editing menus in kde, but i'm suprised noone has tried to fix this yet. i've already deleted my .config/ folder and made edits to the menu successfully, however for unknown reasons, the kmenu entries eventually just change back to a default setting - even during the same session! sometimes i install an rpm and it puts 3 or 4 entries in one menu - for example : K ->Other->Doom3
->Doom3
->Doom3

and it looks so ugly. i also noticed extra entries where you wouldn't expect like :
K->System Settings->Multimedia->Mplayer and stuff. isn't there a way to fix this? where are the default settings that keep getting used to replace my custom menus? can i prevent the defaults from erasing my settings? is the fedora community aware of this problem and fixing it for fedora core 4?

I think it would be a KDE issue not Fedora... If you think it is a legit bug and not specifc to your installation search the bug database and report it to KDE... That's the best way they know that something needs attention...

I disagree - the default KDE is laid out differently to that in Fedora. I believe (from memory) that this arrangement was first in Red Hat 8 - I'd suggest emailling the Fedora team (addresses should be on the Fedora site) or posting in Fedoraforums.org.
