Question Thunderbird in Fedora?

is there a way to transfer all my thunderbird settings and/or mail from windows to thunderbird in Fedora Linux?
if not does anyone know why they would not want you to do that?

It should be possible to copy various files from your windows profile to your to your profile in your home folder on Linux. I know for sure that you can copy your addressbook (abook.mab) and junk mail training data (training.dat). I've not tried copying the mail across (at least, not lately. I think I did it a couple of years ago). Your windows profile should be at /mnt/windows/Documents and Settings/$USER/Application Data/Thunderbird and your Linux profile is in the hidden folder .thunderbird in your home folder.

Yes it definitely works. I have done it several times. In Douments and Settings on c: drive in m$ hunt around for your thunderbird dir under your username dir (xp layout). Find a dir under thunderbird that looks something like: vahjxn65.default
Create a dir in your Linux home dir called .thunderbird and drop the vahjxn65.default dir and all its content into it. Then simply run Thunderbird. Remember vahjxn65.default is just an example yours will be slightly different.
