thumbdrive is auto mounting as both cd-rom & thumbdrive
I am trying to auto mount my thumbdrive in Fedora 6.0 with KDE desktop. only the cd-rom drive pops up on desktop when I insert my thumb drive.
dmseg finds direct connect thumbdrive first, then finds the same device and calls it a cd rom drive. Any suggestions? |
So you can't access your thumb drive? The same thing happens to me under Fedora Gnome. As far as I'm concerned it's not a problem at all. I can access the drive by clicking on the icon for it. Matter of fact, when I plug the thumb drive in it 'auto runs' and shows the contents in Nautilus. The cdrom icon is 'just there'.

Thanks for your response.
I wasnt very clear describing my problem. The CD icon is the only icon that appears on my desktop 99% of the time. Only twice in the last 4 days after many attempts plugging in my thumb drive has it appeared on my desktop. Any thoughts? |
