The 6th column of "/etc/fsatb"?

Hi,
can the number on the 6th column of the file "/etc/fstab" be "1" for any other fs rather than "/"?

From the fstab man page

Quote:

The sixth field, (fs_passno), is used by the fsck(8) program to determine the order in which filesystem checks are done at reboot time. The root filesystem should be specified with a fs_passno of 1, and other filesystems should have a fs_passno of 2. ....... If the sixth field is not present or zero, a value of zero is returned and fsck will assume that the filesystem does not need to be checked.

Filesystems within a drive are checked sequentially, so it wouldn't make much sense to have more than one 'first' entry.

But what does (0) mean(it doesnot make sense not to check the fs),does it mean that this fs can not be automounted at boot time?and thus when we type mount this fs cannot appear.

(0) is for fs that you dont want to be checked, such as fat32, ntfs, iso9660 etc.

Checked means like windows scandisk.
