Hey folks I'm trying to enter the Linux world with mixed results.

I've got an ATI Radeon 7000 and a Dell 21 inch LCD display connected via DVI.

In either KDE or Gnome I get a strange shearing/tearing effect and in addition some of the pixels actually look like they are twinkling. Yep, true story. I've check my XF86Config and to the best of my knowledge everything looks good. As a test I even added a VideoRam line to hard code in the amount of VRam this card has which is 32MB.

I'd like to get rid of the problem if possible because it's annoying. I have this big beautiful display and I's like to use it. I've got FC1 at home on a 19 inch LCD and it's great.

Any ideas would be great.
