startup services

Have just done a fresh 'base' install of FC2 on a spare hdd, i wanna play with the services and kernel configs looking to improve performance.

I've removed many of the startup services with chkconfig --del, but theres still a lot im not sure about.

Removed:
kudzu pcmcia nfs mdmpd irqbalance gpm apmd acpid anacron
nfslock rhnsd portmap rpcgssd rpcidmapd rpcsvcgssd mdmonitor

Remaining:
atd <--- is this needed for cron, or anything else useful?
netdump <--- dont think i need this?
iptables
smartd
network
saslauthd
micrcode_ctl <--- is this used for AMD Durons?
crond
readahead
yum
cpuspeed <---- is this just for laptops?
sendmail
netfs
rawdevices
autofs
netplugd
syslog
irda
random
readahead_early
psacct

The system will be running as a full-time server, any comments on whats left, or whats already been removed?

Have you tried looking these up in, e.g.

man yum
man kudzu
man atd
etc.?

The ones i removed are the ones im pretty sure i dont need, from looking at various places. The others i know i need, or arent sure about.

Man pages arent exactly always the most helpful things.
