sources.list...no sources!

I don't understand why, but my Fedora 7 doesn't have any repos. I need a basic list with the stuff to install a dvd player of sorts. I don't have any hardware issues, it just that all the necessary things aren't installed and it doesn't know where to find them.

Smile sources.list - no sources

I also run Debian etch on laptop but Fedora 5 on a desktop. I often find myself looking for the wrong files when I switch. Isn't sources.list in /etc/apt/ under Debian. Fedora 5 uses /etc/yum/repos.d and yum.conf from memory (I'm on laptop).

Cheers

I have no such file. In /etc/yum I only have the file "yumupdatesd.conf". This is what it contains:

Quote:
[main]
# how often to check for new updates (in seconds)
run_interval = 3600
# how often to allow checking on request (in seconds)
updaterefresh = 600

# how to send notifications (valid: dbus, email, syslog)
emit_via = dbus

# automatically install updates
do_update = no
# automatically download updates
do_download = no
# automatically download deps of updates
do_download_deps = no

So you don't have a /etc/yum.conf and have an empty /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory?
