sound problem artsd
Hello,
I am using YDL (fedora) on an Ibook.
For some time I was using version 3 and that worked without problems.
Now there was a new version 4.0 based on fedora.
After installation I get the next error while starting :
Error while initializing the sound driver.
SNDCTL_DSP_SETFMT failed - Invalid argument.
The sound server will continue using the null output device.
When I try to restart artsd from the console I get the same error.
During the installation the sound test worked fine. I also have OS X on the system and there the sound works fine.
If I try artsd -l0 -F10 -S4096 (as suggested in the artsd info)
I get the following output :
artsd version 1.3.0
gsl: using Unix98 Pthreads directly for mutexes and conditions
autodetecting driver:
-toss :4
-esd :-1
-null :-1
-alsa : 0
-oss : 10
..... which means w'll default to oss

and then the same error report
Can anybody give me some hints?
