Sound on A7V880 stopped working after reboot of FC3
I installed FC3 yesterday on this computer and during install the sound was detected automatically AND I could hear the test sound. However, after the first reboot the sound has dropped out.
What's wrong? It's the onboard sound of an Asus A7V880. This uses the Via KT880 northbridge and whatever the southbridge is that goes along with it. It's the onboard sound from that southbridge. I'm using KDE if that has anything to do with it. |
Just an idea:
Did you try running 'alsamixer' or the Gnome or KDE mixer to see if the sound volumes got muted or set to 0? |

PCM is your main sound output from applications, for example XMMS or Xine or something. The other control various settings on your sound card, things like 5.1 output or optical control or setting front vs. back speakers. I do NOT know all the details you can find out at alsa-project homepage.
What I do know from experience is the first 2 VIA DXS should always be set to max. |

Awesome information! Thanks. :) My first VIA DXS seems to be the only one that does anything but that hardly matters. Thanks again! |
