sound driver not work on FC5

Hi,

The FC5 booting cannot find /dev/dsp and there is no sound driver loaded. But, when I run system-config-soundcard, it detectd following device:

Vendor: Crystal
Mode: Codec - CSC 0000
Module: snd-cs4236

If the system can detect the sound card, why can't it load the driver? Is the problem of the sound card, or is it the problem of FC5? Will it help if I buy another type of sound card?

Thank you.

Jim

What happens when you type as root:

modprobe snd-cs4236 or modprobe cs4236

I also found this link that may help.
