Sound disabled at boot

when i boot into FC2, my sound is disabled but when i go to soundcard detection and play test sound, it works and then everything is fine, sound starts working in other places.... whats going on?

Add kmix applet to ur panel and edit sound levels if u havent done it yet....
Also see if the following checkbox is set: controlpanel>sound and multimedia>sound system>start sound server on kde start up and login
