Sound card is detected but does not work in Fedora Core 2.
I have recently just installed Fedora Core 2. It works fine, connects to the internet and everything, but it just refuses to play a sound.
When I go to system settings, hardware detection, it gives me :
Vendor - Fortemedia, Inc
Model - QS3000A (FM801)
Module - sndfm801
The soundcard itself is Standard CM8738 Sound Card PCI.
When I click on play a test sound, nothing plays.
I tried Aumix, and the volume is on full.
Please note that it is my first Linux installation, so I am still a

get root privileges, and type the following comand:
#]: /sbin/./modprobe sndfm801
and press enter.....

If you use KDE try the following (worked for me):
1. For some unkown reason, KDE sets your volume to lowest (mute) change the volumes back 1st.
2. turn off IEC958 Capture Monitor.

Solution : Reinstall Fedora!
