What you are getting are dependencies problems.
Make sure you download every xine package you need, then try to install them all at once: rpm -ivh <xinelib.rpm> <xine-blabla.rpm> ...
Then if it continue to print out dependencies errors, download and intstall the packages you need, search in your media discs, rpmfind.net, if you have synaptic check there too.
Welcome to the dependencies hell :)

Well .. I got it all installed and seems o be working ... what I did was download the tar balls .. and ./configure make install .. it works now ..

The problem that I am having now is when I try and play a DVD ... I will get the very first part of the DVD "copyright warnings" than I get this error ..

"The source cant be read.
Mabe you dont have enough rights for this, or
source dosent contain data (e.g. no disk in drive).
(Error reading NAV packet.)"

What ya think?

ok .. all fixed! .. I had to turn DMA on ... e.g. hdparm -d1 /dev/hdc

Works perfect! ..
