Some questions about Fedora Core

1. How to Install programms without installation paskages?

2. Where to put downloaded codecs and where get rpm package for installing codecs (divx, mp3, etc...)

3. What files are "launchers" in Linux (Like ***.exe in Windows)

Thank you

1. It depends what program, you can just copy anything anywhere if you have root privileges, but it's generally better to use RPMs.

2. Again, it depends on which program the codecs are for as different programs have different requirements.

3. Files in Linux are not required to have extensions to any file can be an executable. if you do ls -l inside any directory then if the permissions flags (the bit that looks like rwxr-xr-x) contains the 'x' character then it is executable.

You need to provide specifics when you post if you want helpful answers!
