Show me a set of easy to follow instruction on how to install ATI (fglrx)
Hi There
Can someone point me to set of easy to follow instruction on how to install ATI drivers (fglrx) in FC5. Note xorg is version 7 in FC5 See how it is done in Ubuntu: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BinaryDriverHowto/ATI Also note: I have tried to install FC5 on my laptop, and let me say this, it is a pain to even get into the GUI. It falls back into text mode. What do I do then? just sit and stare the balck screen. Balck screen also happended in Ubuntu, but I just copied the syntax from that site and in 2 minutes I was in the graphical interface with all my 3D at my disposal! How do you like that? I want to try FC as I have heard so much about it. I am even trying its derivative called BLAG. So if someone can tell me it that easy to get my ATI display working...then..well. Many thanks, Smiley |
Whilst not a definitive answer:
http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_cor...es.html#nVidia Says that 3rd party drivers don't work with it's stock kernel, you'll need to get a different one. Personally ATI's drivers are wank and don't work (especially on fedora) very well, at least, not as well as NVidias |
