Gnome is a collection of lots of packages which means a lot of upgrading to do - in the correct order. It would be best if you left this until you are more confident with installing/upgrading. If gnome works ok then use it as is.

Unless you're an avid user then don't bother.

Eventually yes, perhaps. You'll just have to wait but don't worry about A LOT changing that will be noticeably different from what you probably make use of.

fedora 3 came with gnome 2.8, but either way core 4 should be making its appearance soon, so ya shouldent have to wait around too much longer.

I'd hold off, as well. You could easily update, but with Fedora Core IV right around the corner, why bother?

Fedora Core 4 final release is tentativly sheduled for release on June 6 (D-Day for you history buffs).

Fedora Core 4 Test 1 is due out tomorrow (March 15).

Here is the tentative release schedule for Core 4

Gnome 2.10 hopefully will be part of Fedora Core 4 final release

Fedora Core 4 Test 1 is available here on http.

But, I wouldn't recommend putting this on a computer you use everyday. If you have a computer not doing anything else, install it and play away. Otherwise, don't use a test version as an everyday OS, it will cause you nothing but grief.
