Sharing files between RHEL and Fedora 11

Hello Everyone,

I have two machines, a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 machine and a Fedora 11 machine. I need to know what is the easiest, most secure way of sharing files, and how to mount those files on my desktop. I have Samba on both machines in the same workgroup, but if I don't have a Windows box do I need Samba?

Again, looking for easy and secure if there is such a thing.

Many thanks in advance for anyone's help, even if you point me to some documentation.

Thanks again,

AceMan

The easiest way to do it is to use NFS...you _can_ use SAMBA...but if you are just sharing between Linux servers (i.e. *NO* Windows machines involved); then NFS is the best way to go.

You could open your browser and in the address bar "sftp://name@###.###.##.##" and that should get you a login prompt.

If it is just on your network security may not be a problem. Try it.

RHEL NFS http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...l5_ch-nfs.html
For even more secure, try sshfs.
