I have a Samsung ML-2010 printer connected to Fedora core 4 machine. I want to use this printer to print from Windows XP. How do I do this?
I tried modifying smb.conf but no luck.
this is my smb.conf
Code:
[global]
workgroup = linux
server string = linux
security = user
encrypt passwords = yes
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd
log file = /var/log/samba.%m
max log size = 50
socket options = TCP_NODELAY
preferred master = yes
wins support = yes
dns proxy = no
username map = /etc/samba/smbusers
guest ok = no
guest account = nobody
printcap name = /etc/printcap
load printers = yes
printing = cups
cups options = "raw"
use client driver = no
[linux]
comment = linux
path = /
browseable = yes
writeable = yes
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = no
public = yes
guest ok = yes
writable = no
printable = yes
security = user
[SamsungM]
printer name = lp
comment = SamsungM
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = no
guest ok = yes
writeable = yes
printable = yes
public = yes
security = user
print command = lp
Any recomendations?
One more questions. How do I let samba root login? I'm a slackware user, and I can login as root from xp machines but this doesnt' work in FC4. Is there a way to do this?
Thank you,
James
