Sendmail installation in linux fedora


hi,

i have fedora--1 and i am going to install the new version of sendmail.

I have download the tar file and i have done unzip also of tar file and i have read the Readme file also but i cannot able to install the new version of sendmail.

So, please tell me how i can install the sendmail.

I would HIGHLY recommend finding the RPM for FC1, widely available on the net. See rpmfind.net, for example. Be sure you are downloading the version compiled for FC1. Sendmail consists of many files, and is not easily compiled from source.

Hi ,
Iam a new user on Linux . I was trying to install and configure Sendmail..
Could anyone tell a simplest method to install Sendmail on Fedora core 4.

Open a command line and as root, type
Code:
yum install sendmail sendmail-cf
If you go to sendmail.org there is a ton of info on what different options do and mean.

You can also check to see if it is already installed. on the command line type
Code:
rpm -qa|grep sendmail
If entrys for sendmail appear then you already have it installed.....
