I loaded Fedora to my desktop. After installation upon rebooting i got the message "SELinux could no open policy file, No such file or directory, Halting now" It is a fresh installation in a system with Debian etch and Ubuntu 8.04 on it working with no problem.Any help will be appreciated.

Ah, that Selinux can be such a pest. Frankly, if it is only a fresh install, you may as well go for a reinstall. I have recently installed fedora 9 and I had similar issues. It took me over a day's worth of troubleshooting before I had everything in working ...

if you did a very custom software install it might have gotten unchecked
install just the default software .

First Update? The system does not boot. It hangs on the message of "SELinux no such file exist"

Well, then I guess it's time for a reinstall then. Did you check the sha1sum of the iso? For all I know you may have used a corrupt image to install. That would end in troubles sooner or later.
