screen resolution problem in fedora 7 with ati radeon x700

yeah im running fedora 7, and i have a pcie ati radeon x700 pro installed. the problem i'm having is with screen resolution - it only gives me options for 800x600, or 640x480. id at least like 1024x768. other distros, like suse seem to do okay, but fedora seems to be the only one that can use the 3d effects ok. anyway, does anyone know how to fix this? btw im a total linux noob.

Install and use the third party ATI driver, follow this;

i was able to get 1024x768 by setting the monitor to "generic crt 1024x768" then simply changing the resolution and restarting fedora. however its still probably a good idea to get the drivers though, as i havent installed any ati stuff since i got fedora. thanks man!
