screen hz change

I had a problems with my old monitor so now I have a new one. Now when i try booting up fedora core 4. my monitors says Hz Out of range or something like that.

how do i set the HZ to 60 when i boot?

I searched around on the ned a little, but didnt find anything useful.

oh i forgot to mention that i can boot up in root using the Rescue Disc. i only need to know the command for changing the Hz. thx

should be able to set it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

look for a section about monitor etc.

sorry i can't be more precise, i'm sure someone else will be

so you could boot into rescue mode on the cd, chroot to your Linux install and run an editor like nano or VI
