sceensaver problems

Hi,
I recently upgraded from RH8 to FC3. I noticed that although kde screensavers appear in the configure desktop menu, none is showing when the time comes, just a blank screen. I checked other threads but found no answer. I had a similar problem in RH8 but manage to solve it after creating /home/lado/.kde/share/applnk-redhat/System/Screensavers folder and copying the screensavers there from /usr/share/apps/kscreensaver. The /usr/share/apps/kscreensaver folder in fedora is empty. Folder /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver is full of screensavers, i tried copying them in folder home/lado/.kde/share/applnk/System/Screensavers which i made but nothing.
Any ideas would be very appreciated
Thanks

No I don't, but not all screensavers require openGL drivers (I think...)

no not all of them, but most of them do....install the latest openGL drivers for your graphics card and then see what happens.

This might Help.

Fedora Core 2 Monitor Standby Work Around ( post #1)

There are three files that I edited.
XOrg.conf
XF98Config
XF86Config.eg

They are in /usr/X11R6/lib/Server/

Look for

Option "blank time" "10" # 10 minutes

Option "standby time" "20"
Option "suspend time" "30"
Option "off time" "60"

I changed mine to

Option "blank time" "0" # 10 minutes

Option "standby time" "0" # 20 minutes
Option "suspend time" "0" # 30 minutes
Option "off time" "0" # 60 minutes

Then I went to the Control Center in KDE to the screensaver section and under setup unchecked the use OpenGL screensavers and Random Screensavers worked fine.
