Samba problem
Hi,
I've Fedora 4 installed on my laptop and I'm connecting to a networked harddrive for backup purposes. I can access this through Samba - although I wouldn't say that my Samba configuration is correct - I can see the drive and the folders and data on the drive.
The problem is when I come to modify the contents, for example I create a folder, or I delete a folder. Then when I view the folder that contains the change the Processor jumps from its normal idle to 100% in use and if I try to enter the modified folder the network jumps to about 50-60% usage. I have left the computer in this state for five to ten minutes with no improvement. If I leave the modified folder the processor and network stablise back to their idle state.
If I log out and then back in everything is fine - that is I can see the previously modified folder. I am suspecting that there is something wrong with my Samba configuration (is it failing to update its internal picture of the file structure?) but I'm at a loss as to what to do, where to look.
Any help would be appreciated.
