rpmbuild ??


Trying to build a rpm with following tar.gz and I get following message, as far as
I can see is that ltmodem-8.31a7.tar.gz is a tar file, what gives?

# rpmbuild -ta --target ltmodem-8.31a7.tar.gz
rpmbuild: no tar files given for build

You have to gunzip it first IIRC:

$ gunzip -d ltmodem-8.31a7.tar.gz

That will decompress it and the name will be changed to ltmodem-8.31a7.tar. I think rpmbuild requires a pure tar, not a compressed tar.gz.
