red hat icon / start button disappered....

This is a new installation of FC3 that I'm running as a guest in VMWare on Windows. I moved over tmy home directory from a previous installation. Running Gnome, the little "start" button on the bottom left (usually red hat icon) to pull up program list mysteriously vanished.

I know it's a pretty simple issue but I really have no clue as to how to get it back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look along the top. Fedora Core doesn't use the Red Hat start button. Instead, most of what you would find there are now under the first pull down menu--"Applications"
