Red Carpet for Package Management?

I see Ximian has just released OpenCarpet .1 which allows the rcd daemon to use multiple services. So now Fedora users could use rug/red carpet/etc to do package management on their favorite apt/open-carpet repos. My vote is to use this instead of yum/apt/up2date. Thoughts?

OpenCarpet sure does seem to be a better deal than apt / yum. But I'm wondering if we need so many alternatives !!!

opencarpet //// apt /// yum ??? (plus stuff like urpmi on MDK etc)

They all deal with RPM's so it's not a big issue IMHO. OpenCarpet is nice though and somewhat better then apt/synaptic. Yet I am still used to the options I get with synaptic though.

Doesn't this still require a version of Red Carpet for the targeted system? I wonder if Ximian will release one ofr Fedora? Or XD2....? (Please, Ximian...) ;-)
