Recompile Fedora 2.0 kernel

Hi,

I have Fedora Core 2 loaded on my Vaio laptop. I think there is a bug that does not load the pcmcia module after install (it found my wifi card during install). I have to type: modprobe yenta-socket, then service pcmcia restart to get my wifi card to work. I also want to load the Vaio modules so I want to recompile the kernel. I have searched the forums and have not been able to find a definitive set of instructions for recompiling the kernel. I have successfully recompiled Mandrake before, but have not been able to recompile Xandros or Linspire.
Can anyone give me a list of packages that need to be installed (what compiler would be best), and step by step instruction, including what I do with grub.

Thanks.
