Rebuilt initrd for FC4 anaconda to use

Basically I got a FC4 DVD, by default it seems to preload ata_piix for scsi module but instead i want it to preload ahci module instead. I figure out that i need to run something like mkinitrd -用reload=ahci -用reload=libata -用reload=scsi_mod -用reload=sr_mod -用reload=sd_mod /boot/initrd-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4.img 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4. Do i need to run something for vmlinuz image as well? Do i run this command on a FC4 that has this kernel image 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4? and copy the initrd replacing the initrd on the FC4 DVD installer? Has anyone tried anything like this before?

i guess that would work if the kernels were exactly the same along with the relevant modules being available on the FC4 dvd.

you dont need to alter the vmlinuz image. maybe it would be better go copy the whole kernel, kernel source and initrc from an existing FC4 to the dvd .iso and then remaster and burn it (i guess that's what you are wanting to do)

i'm not sure about the 'preload' syntax. i've never used that, but if that what works, then fair enough. No i've never tried it....
