RealPlayer playback very choppy!
Hello
I've been trying to use RealPlayer on Fedora Core 5 x86_64 to listen to some internet radio stations (I've tried vlc and mplayer, but some streams just won't play on anything but Realplayer). However, the output is very choppy, mostly unlistenable. This is also the same when I tried to get it to play some of my MP3 files. Has anyone else had this experience? What's wrong - a bug in the program? Thanks |
A better idea is to use the 32-bit versions of firefox, mplayer with the mplayerplug-in and some mplayer codecs.
Example: $ rpm -qa --qf="%{n}-%{v}-%{r}.%{arch}.rpm\n" firefox 'mplayer*' | sort firefox-1.5.0.7-1.i386.rpm mplayer-1.0pre8-1.i386.rpm mplayer-codecs-20060611-1.i386.rpm mplayer-codecs-extra-20060611-1.i386.rpm mplayer-fonts-1.1-3.0.rf.noarch.rpm mplayer-gui-1.0pre8-1.i386.rpm mplayerplug-in-3.31-1.el4.rf.i386.rpm mplayer-skins-1.7-1.0.rf.noarch.rpm $ uname -a Linux Aspire5000 2.6.18-git1 #3 Sun Sep 24 17:44:53 EDT 2006 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux |
