Did you install this from source or from the binary rpm?
Which version did you install and where from?

I cannot read the error messages you're quoting - it just looks like garbage to me.
Possibly Realplayer is just broken - have you tried playing anything else?

So - did it play the mp3's?

Checking on my system - just installed realplayer 10 gold - it won't play mpeg video.
(I havn't done this before because I use totem and MPlayer ... I only use realplayer in mozilla/ffox).

The RealPlayer binary rpm does not have the ability to play mpeg video out of the box. You have to download the plugin. When you first ran the player - you got a string of dialogs to configure it. Do this with a browser open and you get a "check for updates" check box as well as a "configure mozilla helpers". With both these checked - clicking next will take your browser to the realplayer site and install the mozilla plugin to boot.
