Reallocating Disk Space

I am using Fedora 5 and currently there are 2 partitions for the linux system. One is the swap partition (1 GB) and the other is root partition (6.4 GB). I want to reallocate the disk space (approximately 500 MB) from the swap partition to the root partition so that the later should have more space. Is there any way to reallocate space without reinstalling the whole linux system.

I would boot up with a copy of http://freshmeat.net/projects/systemrescuecd/ and use the tool called qtparted. I would check out the site because there is limits depending on the filesystem type used.
